The National Black Programming Consortium is a non-profit media service organization devoted to the preservation, production, distribution and promotion of diverse films and videos about African Americans and African Diaspora experiences, with offices in Pittsburgh, PA and Columbus, OH. Founded in 1979, NBPC is one of five ethnic consortia funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. NBPC aims to increase the quantity and quality of Black films and videos on the PBS national schedule, where many of NBPC-supported programs have been aired nationally.
