Internship Program
We are seeking energetic and eager persons for our hands-on internship program. This internship is not for the squeamish! Our internship is non-paid, but can be used for college internship credit. You will be working with real equipment, and real deadlines, for real productions.- Work on programming that reaches over one million two hundred thousand households

CREATIVE INTERNSHIP
Description of Internship & Responsibilities To Be Assigned To Interns: Intern will be assigned to one of several shows as an Associate Producer. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: Show Topics, Booking Guests, Show Run Downs, Research, Interviews, Editing Packages, Phone Calls, Writing Scripts, Voice-Over's, Editing Promo's, Other responsibilities as assigned by show producer, Production Coordinator, or Production Manager.- Communication:
Intern's need to be able to express themselves clearly and concisely. Need to have good written communication skills. Should be able to write scripts for packages, create promos, and be able to perform voice-overs for both.
- Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Interns are faced with many challenges throughout their internship. From learning how to use equipment in our edit bay, to creating entertaining, informative packages. Need to be able to direct camera-people to get desired footage for use in editing. Must be able to pre-plan (to a degree) how show or package will be put together.
- Teamwork:
Interns work heavily with other associate producers, technical interns, staff, and show producer(s) to create local programming.
- Self-Management:
Interns are expected to be busy, finding their own stories, getting approval from the show producer, setting up shoots, getting scripts written, packages edited, and meeting deadlines. Must be able to organize their schedule, work effectively with staff, other interns, and producers to gain the most out of their time here.
- Initiative:
Interns are expected to learn the business and work in the business of producing great local programming. Need to be able to take directions, be organized, ask the questions, and work to accomplish their goal.
- Technical Skills:
Should not be intimidated by lack of technical skills, but must be willing to learn how to "shoot" with a DVC Pro camera, and learn to use editing equipment, and edit their own packages or promo's. Other learning opportunities include: lighting, audio, video switcher, and master control room.
TECHNICAL INTERNSHIP
Description of Internship & Responsibilities To Be Assigned To Interns:
Intern will be scheduled weekly to work as crew for one of several shows produced. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: Lighting, Set Construction, Audio, Camera, Technical Directing, Truck Shoots, Phones, Logging Tapes, Graphics, Grip, Remote Shoots, Editing, Floor Director, Assistant Director, Gaffing Other responsibilities as assigned by show producer, Production Coordinator, or Production Manager.- Communication:
Intern's need to be able to express themselves clearly and concisely. Should have a basic understanding of television terms and production skills. Need to be able to follow director's cues during all shoot situations (live studio shoots, truck shoots, remote shoots).
- Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Technical interns are challenged to learn all aspects of production. Use of edit systems, running DVC Pro cameras and studio cameras, framing shots, and learning which type of mic is best for certain audio situations are among some of the problem solving and decision making skills they will use. Interns should retain skills learned and refining each skill from shoot to shoot.
- Teamwork:
Interns work heavily with show producer(s), associate producers, technical interns, and staff to create local programming.
- Self-Management:
